Join The Sharks

 If you have a swimmer in your family and are looking for a great way to further his or her interest in the sport, the Baldwinsville Sharks Swim Club, BSSC, may be what you need. BSSC is a USA competitive swim team that holds practices in the Baker High School pool.
Each swimmer will be evaluated and assigned a practice group depending on their ability. The swimmer must have basic swimming skills. Be sure to bring a suit, towel, swim cap and goggles to your first swim practice. All swimmers must be 8 years of age or older and able to swim multiple lengths of the pool.

Membership cost for Group I & II, 07-08 Fall Session (9-17-07 to 3-22-08):
Group I:    $279   (age 8 & up)---includes USA registration fee.
Group II:   $354  (generally grades 6 - 12)--- includes USA registration fee.
 

Modified/Varsity Swimmers Only (swim with Group II) fees are as follows:
 Boys Varsity Preseason Tune-Up:         $60    (if already 2007 USA Registered)
                                                                   $113  (if not already 2007 USA Registered)
 Boys Modified Preseason Tune-Up:      $150   (if already 2007 USA Registered)
                                                                   $204   (if not already 2007 USA Registered)
 Girls Varsity/Modified Tune-Up:            $254  (will start after varsity/modify season completed)

**Due to limited pool space, registration priority will be given to returning Shark swimmers.  If you are new to Sharks, please register before 9/17 as there are only a few slots open.  If we reach our maximum number of swimmers, you may ask to be placed on a wait-list and be notified when space becomes available.**

USA Membership: Becoming a member of the Baldwinsville Sharks Swim Club also gives a swimmer membership in USA Swimming (“USA”). This is required for all swimmers, and the current USA membership fee is $54 annually and is included in the club membership fees described above. USA fees are due at the time of fall registration and are valid for the entire year. USA membership is necessary for insurance purposes and for participation in any swim meets you may enter during the year.

Swimmer ‘Mailboxes’
Each BSSC swimmer will find their “mailbox” located within the Baker pool area (near the office). This “mailbox” is actually a file containing a folder for each swimmer, with the swimmer’s name appearing on the tab. This folder should be checked after each practice by each swimmer. Calendars, newsletters, meet information, team party announcements and any meet awards are placed in these folders. Meet ribbons won for top swim results in your chosen events will be placed in your folder. It is the responsibility of each swimmer to check these folders for important information. If you cannot locate the file box containing these folders, please be sure to ask the Coach. It might be a good idea for parents to ask their swimmer if they have checked their folder recently. It is important to keep abreast of any information being sent home, especially meet entry forms, monthly informational calendar, and potential changes to swim practice times.
